Georgetown is where my family calls home. Everything we love is here now, including el Monumento the best Mexican food anywhere in Texas, made with fresh ingredients from the gardens at Monument Cafe just down the road, the sweetest town square anywhere, a historic district you'll want to get lost on a bike in, and all the shopping you would ever need including a new Natural Grocers.
Outdoor attractions include Blue Hole, San Gabriel Park, and Lake Georgetown. Bike from one location to the next and stop along the way to observe the beauty of The San Gabriel River. Head over to the west side to bike the Ronald Reagan Corridor.
Also on the west side of Georgetown you will find beautiful new developments like Palmero Ridge, Rancho Sienna and Santa Rita Ranch. Serenada is an older more established neighborhood with large lots, some an acre +, and an abundance of wild life.
The historic district surrounds the square and is loaded down with historical landmarks, restored homes, and city parks. On the east side of Georgetown you'll find new neighborhoods and parks growing out towards Taylor.
With the Williamson County Sheriff's Office headquartered in Georgetown, you may find Sheriff Robert Chody on the streets with his command staff. He hosts a haunted house at the old jail each year. You won't want to miss the lighting of the square at the old courthouse either; it is a magical event that takes place at dark the Friday after Thanksgiving.
